Installation through the facade
The task
Four freshly painted steel stairs were to be installed in a new office building.
A large glass section closed the direct hoistway, which meant that the stairs could not be lifted in from the outside in the traditional way.
The assembly also had to be done from above, as the building's structure had to absorb the load from the stairs.
The task therefore required planning, sequence and precision in execution.
The framework
• Limited access
• Lift through facade openings
• Multi-level assembly
• Requirements for correct load distribution
Here, technique and overview should go hand in hand.
The solution
The task was reviewed and planned in detail before the installation day.
The stairs were fitted with transport brackets so that they could be brought in through the entrance area and prepared for lifting inside the building.
They were then lifted from above through several facade openings with 150 tm and 105 tm truck cranes.
The lifts were carried out in a controlled manner and in the correct order so that the already assembled stairs were not stressed during the process.
The result
Four staircases installed safely and controlled in the building's atrium.
The task was carried out efficiently with full control over both technique, sequence and safety.
Big solutions require precision.
