Cranes, transport and access solutions for the wind industry
BMS has many years of experience in the wind industry and provides solutions for installation, service and transport of wind turbines and wind turbine components.
This experience includes the acquisition of KranGården A/S in 2001 and the merger with Kranringen A/S in 2004. Both companies worked closely with Vestas and Siemens, formerly Bonus Energy, from the 1980s through the 1990s and 2000s.
Today, the wind industry is an important part of the BMS Group. Through BMS Heavy Cranes A/S, BMS works with wind turbines worldwide, on land, onshore, at ports and for the offshore market.
For the wind industry, BMS can provide
- Cranes Used for installing new wind turbines and servicing existing turbines in Denmark.
- SPMTs (Self-Propelled Modular Transporters) Used to transport wind turbine components, primarily in port areas for offshore wind turbines, moving them from storage to the quayside where they are loaded onto installation vessels. We also use our SPMTs to transport larger wind turbine components on Danish roads, typically for delivery to wind turbine test centers.
- Truck-Mounted Lifts Used for the inspection and repair of turbine blades. Our lifts reach up to 90 meters, and for taller turbines, we offer our SQYFlex platforms as an alternative.
- SQYFlex Platforms Used as working platforms for blade repairs.
