When heavy lifting starts on the drawing board

The lifting of skybridges at Nyt OUH in Odense is a good example of how complex lifting tasks begin long before the crane rolls onto the construction site.

The work starts on the drawing board, where lifting plans, crane selection, special equipment and safety are calculated and coordinated in detail so that all conditions are known before the first element is lifted.

The task is demanding. Skybridges weighing up to 158 tons and extending 20 meters require engineered, custom-made, CE-approved lifting equipment. Prior to the actual lift, rigging and preparation are carried out with a focus on safety and risk assessment.

The lift was planned by BMS Project & Engineering and executed in collaboration with BMS Heavy Cranes. The interaction between planning and execution ensures that the lift is carried out safely.
